New Painting started today - Black Painting No 3

I started work this afternoon, on the 3rd painting in the series of new work entitled 'BLACK', a group of worked based the the color Black. The series includes sculptures and large scale paintings. This is painting number 3 and is the 1st state. March 10, 2013.

REVOLT Magazine Wearable Art Premier Issue design A

This is a design sketch for the Revolt Magazine wearable art - Premier Issue. It is based on Mirena Rhee's Occupy My Painting. Mirena Rhee will be modeling the Premier Issue wearable art at the Revolt Magazine Premier launch party in 2012 in New York City

Black Painting 2nd State

This is the 2nd state of the current Black painting. Still working on it. It is an exploration in to the black hole of color & space and aggression. The idea was inspired by Gerhard Ricther's 1962 Table painting.

New Paintings for November 2011- Red Girl with Still Life

Started working on the Super Size Painting series Part 2 painting this November . Two new paintings al most completed. The first is titled "Red Girl with Still Life" Here is the 1st state. I also started the second one today, title "#Flowers with Still Life". Glue-up state this afternoon.

PRESS RELEASE: ART EVENT - The Armory Show 2011 Arts Week

New York, NY, March 3, 2011 - West Chelsea artist Scotto Mycklebust will open his studio to the public for The Armory Show 2011 Arts Week - High Line Open Studios 2011 this Saturday, March 5, 2011. As one of the event organizer, Scotto Mycklebust will be at his art studio throughout the event along with more than 50 other artists who will open their studios to the public to kick off the High Line Open Studios 2011 season.

On view will be a selection of drawings from his new Guggenheim Drawing Series and Super Size Paintings. The drawings and paintings will be available for purchase during the event.

The studio is located in the West Chelsea Arts building at 526 West 26^th St., Studio 511.

The studio will be open Saturday, March 5, 2011, 11:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Brooklyn Rail Tree Sculpture 2011

Just completed this small table top sculpture. Entitled "Brooklyn Rail Tree Sculpture" 2011. The piece is made from a small tree branch I found yesterday, a small piece of wood and an ad page for the Brooklyn Rail art newspaper mounted on foam-core board. The piece has a nice feel to me. The little sculpture is about trees, art and the environment.

I worked on the H&M painting this afternoon. The 7th state. It needed color, and I added drawing and line.
