Canvas Paper Drawing Series Pad No. 2 - Ten Drawings






I recently bought a couple of Strathmore canvas paper pads, 16 x 20" for drawings. This is a series of 10 drawings from the 2nd pad. There are 10 sheets per pad. The drawings are free form and happen in a brief moment. Each drawing takes about 2 to 3 minutes or less to complete to capture the essence of creativity in drawing. Here are drawings 1 through 5.

Brooklyn Rail Tree Sculpture 2011


Just completed this small table top sculpture. Entitled "Brooklyn Rail Tree Sculpture" 2011. The piece is made from a small tree branch I found yesterday, a small piece of wood and an ad page for the Brooklyn Rail art newspaper mounted on foam-core board. The piece has a nice feel to me. The little sculpture is about trees, art and the environment.

VertSkull Painting Digital Study


This is a digital compositional study for the painting which in progress. I started the painting yesterday and glue up the collage this afternoon. The digital study is a photo of the painting on the wall, which I import to iMac computer to continue to develop the painting and continue the compositional states. This allow me to experiment and try different ideas that I have for the composition, regards the colors, line, shape and form that I am looking for.

New Painting Started Today - 'VertSkull' working title



I started a new painting today, a vertical canvas 48x72". The working title is 'VertSkull Painting". This is the 1st compositional state. Will continue working on it tomorrow.

It was a surprise today that this painting came about. I was going to create an entirely different painting. There's a study sketch on the wall to the left. Very painterly, gray, green, red, raw umber, and white palate.
