New Painting started today - Black Painting No 3

I started work this afternoon, on the 3rd painting in the series of new work entitled 'BLACK', a group of worked based the the color Black. The series includes sculptures and large scale paintings. This is painting number 3 and is the 1st state. March 10, 2013.

My West Chelsea art studio will be open to the public, Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 12- 6 p.m. for the HIGH LINE OPEN STUDIO - Armory Show Arts Week Chelsea day program. 

You are invited to stop by the studio, which is in the West Chelsea Arts Building, 526 West 26th Street, Studio 511, NYC

I will be available to meet visitors from 12 - 6 p.m. On view are recent works: Portrait of Mother and Black Sculptures. Selected works are for sale.

West Chelsea Studio video view- February 2013

This is a short video tour of my West Chelsea art studio taken on February 25, 2013 at 6:22 p.m.  

The video includes a shots of the second Black painting I am currently working on, which is part of a new painting series. The video also includes shots of a series of black sculptures which I just completed. They are the first group of small table top sculptures.

There is also images of an easel portrait paintings I am working on, which is part of a series of portrait paintings of my mother, entitled 'Portrait of Mother'. A series of portraits of my mother, who pass-a-way on December 24th. The are portraits based on my memory of her during my visit with her two weeks before she died.

The Portrait of Mother paintings will be on view at my open studio event as part of the HIGH LINE OPEN STUDIOS- Armory Show Arts Week event, March 9th, 12-6 p.m. http://www.highlineopenstudios.org

My mother passed away December 24, 2012. She was 85. I visited her in November to say good bye with love. I started a series of portraits of her in tribute to her inspiration.
