I have always been fascinated by public space in and around the city. There is such a wealth of public areas in New York that beckons to have something artistically done to the spaces. As an artist who has lived and worked in New York City for more than 20 years, I feel the need to contribute to the artistic landscape of the City.
My proposal is to construct and install a large public sculpture of formable size that seize public attention through its mass, color and form. The War Boat Theory Public Sculpture is meant to stop a pedestrian in their tracks by the mass and color and to attract the attention of the viewing public and engage them through the visual and emotional essences of art.
As an artist I feel obligated to create artwork, which raise public perception about the world we live in today.
I see my work as a reflective catalyst on how art can change people, and the world we live in today, and in the future.
